Fly your flag today- Remember their Sacrifice always
Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. Service Members who died while in the military service.[1] First enacted by the an organization of Union veterans — the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR)[2] to honor Union soldiers of theAmerican Civil War – it was extended after World War I to honor Americans who have died in all wars.
Memorial Day often marks the start of the summer vacation season, and Labor Day its end.
Begun as a ritual of remembrance and reconciliation after the Civil War, by the early 20th century, Memorial Day was an occasion for more general expressions of memory, as ordinary people visited the graves of their deceased relatives, whether they had served in the military or not. It also became a long weekend increasingly devoted to shopping, family get-togethers, fireworks, trips to the beach, and national media events such as the Indianapolis 500 auto race, held since 1911 on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend

This is the start of house-buying season
If you make time each month to give your money some attention, you’ll start 2012 in fabulous financial shape.
Thoughtful financial planning can easily take a backseat to daily life. (Do your taxes two months early? You’re just trying to stay on top of today.) But I promise that if you set aside time each month to give your money some attention, when 2012 rolls around you’ll be in fabulous financial shape.
May: Hit a Home Run
This is the start of house-buying season, but since most of us stay put in any given year, let’s focus on you current mortgage holders—starting with your homeowner’s insurance. If rebuilding costs in your area have fallen in recent years, you could be overinsured. Confirm that you have an extended replacement policy, which pays a set percentage over the dollar value of your coverage. And switch to a higher deductible (at least $1,000 or so), which will lower your premium. Cover any expenses that amount to less than $1,000 with your emergency savings fund. Finally, check your property tax base. If your current property tax bill is based on an old valuation of your home, contact your local tax assessor—you may be paying too much.
Mother Of All Rides

World Record Ride Shares with us details on how “The Mother of all Ride” came about
“It has been our vision and now our mission to touch and change countless lives in a positive way.
As a non-profit, Florida corporation established on February 10th, 2011, we are well on our way to making a difference in the lives of Victims of Domestic Violence, Breast Cancer Patients, and Homeless Veterans through our fund raising efforts of The Cowgirls Git-R-Dun World Record Ride.
It was the tragic death of one of our own Cowgirls that motivated us to action. On July 31st, 2010 Brenda L. (sunnie) Ahrens was
strangled to death at the hands of her abusive boyfriend. She planned to escape the next day when she was to receive her disability check. He got her check! We had her convinced to get out, and it was only money that could have made a difference. We vowed never to let that happen again.
Now, it is our goal to raise one million dollars for each of three causes. It will take the collective efforts of hundreds to organize the ride and the participation of thousands of riders to complete at least one “Leg” (the average distance of 250 miles, between one check point to another along the route). With Your help, we will Git-R-Dun!
We are currently seeking promoters & coordinators (we will train, and you will be generously compensated for your efforts by our sponsor, without taking away from the causes). We are also interested in helping any ride clubs or organizations that need to raise funds for their organization by referring their members and others to the ride.
We are also seeking additional corporate sponsors, volunteers, ride captains and ride sisters.
This ride is a very ambitious undertaking of historical proportions and we are depending on the participation of good-hearted people like YOU, to make it a reality and touch and change countless lives.
Please visit our ride page for all the details of the ride and the city near you. If you have any questions, concerns or inquires, or would like to participate as a rider, promoter, coordinator or volunteer, please feel free to call us at 321-926-6156 or email us at TheRide@CowgirlsGitRDun.com

Special Bonus for those who register before Mother’s Day with 3 legs or more. Give the special lady in your life an adventure for Mother’s Days or ride in her honor as you both make history. For $210 flat fee you can ride as many legs as you wish saddle up Y’ all- on your “metal Horse”. See yeah on the route.
Turn Your Groceries Into Gas Money
We all have heard the bad news at one point or another. $5 gas by summer? Prices near $4 a gallon as frugal Americans cut back at the pump (and some even start stockpiling food) Price could hit $5 by Memorial Day Frugal Americans stockpile food against rising prices But others, tired of saving, are happily spending again. Rising prices are shaking the confidence of many American consumers. U.S. pump prices have jumped more than 19 cents since mid-March, to $3.765, which is less than 10 per cent below the all-time high. Average station prices have already passed $4 in Chicago and several Western cities. The lack of confidence is a dark omen for the economy – after all, in finance, confidence is everything. You have no idea what’s going to happen. Some Americans are stocking up today in preparation, so that their family can still eat at tomorrow’s higher prices.
We also see many Americans who have not lose ther jobs in the recession. But have not received a pay increase recently either, nor – despite the growing cost of living – does it look as though they will.
There is a growing segment of consumers who appear to be suffering from ‘frugal fatigue’, according to a new survey by the National Foundation for Credit Counselling.
So, what is the Good New?This Tip will give you Gas money while purchasing groceries for starers or reward you back for more groceries how is that posible? According to Affilated Daniel Singlenton many are paying attencion. “We would like to ask your readers a question and when we ask you…think about all the people you know that would say yes! “Would you spend $200 one time out-of-pocket to TOTALLY ELIMINATE your grocery bill?” Probably a large number of people, right?… because groceries are a big expense! That’s the reason a large number of people are saying “YES!” MPB Today is affiliated with an innovative grocery home delivery service to create a way to eliminate the out-of-pocket expense of our grocery bill with a REWARD PROGRAM alone with a potential major new income stream! Our Product – NAME-BRAND GROCERIES! Everyone is already using them. The money to buy it is already part of their budget — and a very large part of their budget. Families average from $500 – $800 a month on groceries. By elimanting that you not only have gas money you can build an extra income to be use in child care as one example” But there is more click here Groceries paying for Gas and More”
MBP has grown to 50,000 affiliates in 6 month while it took the National Largest home delivery business 12 yrs to have 100,000 customers. Are they in front of a new Trend? I was invited to listen in as they held a national call for their Affiliates. Amount them I heard testimonies from new Parents, Seniors, College students using the service and making a business of it. The Grocery Delivery Service industry is one of the fastest growing industries in America — growing from millions… to now $1 Billion… and expected to reach $85 Billion in the next 5-10 years.
This means the market is still in its INFANCY and puts them in FRONT of the TREND, which is the perfect place to be!
Me And My Mess
Did you know that a messy environment lowers your self-esteem, eats up more time than you would have spent cleaning it, and leads to depression? Just How Messy Are We ?
Soon you might be able to answer that question down to a T. Researchers at MIT, led by cognitive scientist Ruth Rosenholtz, PhD, are working on a series of computer programs designed to quantify visual clutter by measuring color, contrast, “feature congestion,” and visual complexity in maps and photographs of messy spaces. Rosenholtz’s work could end debates over whether your teenager’s room really is a pigsty (it is), help streamline Web sites and simplify maps, and maybe even lead to the creation of smart cars that can direct drivers to avoid overly cluttered—and therefore dangerous—streets.
Holds Barred
Talk about the magic touch: In a 2008 study published in the journal Judgment and Decision Making, researchers confirmed that the longer we physically hold an item, the more we value it. Two groups of 42 test subjects bid on coffee mugs they’d held in their hands for either ten or 30 seconds; the group that had more physical contact with the objects bid significantly higher. The lesson? When cleaning house, it may be best to enlist a buddy to hold things up as you decide what stays and what goes. That way you can avoid forming new attachments to your junk—or rekindling old ones.
An Object is Worth a Thousand Words
What would a stranger think of you if they examined every item you own? That’s the burning question for University of Texas social psychologist Samuel Gosling, PhD. Gosling, the author of Snoop: What Your Stuff Says About You, enters a person’s home or office, notes all items present, and, based on his findings, completes a “personality inventory,” assessing traits like agreeableness and neuroticism. A desk with a dozen framed family pictures might suggest that you value home life—”but are the photos facing inward (for your enjoyment) or outward (to convey a message to others)?” Gosling asks. Snooping may not be an exact science, but certain truths are well documented. For example: “People assume—always—that you’re a nicer person if your space is clean.”
Forgive a Little Bit
If you have a penchant for procrastination, we’ve got good news: A 2010 study out of Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, found that to stop putting off onerous tasks, you should…forgive yourself for putting them off. Doing so decreases your chances of delaying similar chores in the future, because it eases the negative emotions surrounding the task. So if you’re upset about letting your basement progress beyond disorganized to health hazard, the most useful thing you can do is get over it—and then get down to work.
“What Goes Around Comes Around”
“The deeds of a man’s hands will return to him.” Pr 12:14 NAS
We all had heard this expression, how ever I never heard anyone put it this way. Meet Pastor Jentezen Franklin from Gainesville, GA I know him as a TV Evangelist. Relax! It’s Sunday, read on, from his blog great story.
“A lady was driving along a back road in stifling hot weather when she passed an elderly man attempting to fix a flat tire. A woman alone can’t be too careful; nevertheless she hoped somebody would stop. When nobody did, she went back and found the old man weak and perspiring. “Thanks,” he gasped. “I prayed somebody would stop.” Using her cell phone to call for help, the woman waited with him. He introduced himself as Bill Krumweide, talked about his family and his hobby of collecting antique farm equipment. He offered to pay her but the Good Samaritan said, “Just knowing I was an answer to prayer is enough.” Ten years later the same lady was worried about her aging father, who could no longer work the family farm. When she called a volunteer organization for help, four men arrived with heavy equipment and spent three days planting the crops. One of the men looked familiar, and when he introduced himself she realized why. Turns out he was the elderly man’s son, Bill Krumweide, Jr. “Thank you for helping my dad all those years ago,” he said. “I’m the one who owes you,” the woman replied. “It’s amazing how one kindness followed another and connected our families in a bond of gratitude. And it started…with an old man’s prayer.” What goes around comes around. “The deeds of a man’s hands will return to him.” God rewards us “according to [our] work” (Pr 24:12 NAS). You don’t live in a vacuum. The Bible says: “Knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord” (Eph 6:7 NKJV).
Ay Caramba! It’s not a Gypsy saying is Biblical. What can we do to get our hands in the field? I have share in this article 3 links to The Pastors webpage check them out and see what God puts on your heart . We have chosen Two of this to do, Take a guess wish 2 we pick? Have a great Sunday with your love ones.

Fun Filled Family Activities
The most meaningful moments in your life are ones you share with your family, here are some advice on fun and creative ways to spend time with your family and create worthwhile memories. Go to a Farmers’ Market
Visit your local farmers’ market and meet your neighbors who have small farms. You’ll meet the folks who make cheese, bring eggs to market or grow the most delicious carrots. Spend a morning at the market and purchase delicious goodies to work with as you create healthy and fresh meals.
During strawberry season, purchase local strawberries and make jam or strawberry rhubarb pie. In the fall, purchase garlic and potatoes and roast them with rosemary and olive oil. Also, make delicious salads with fresh lettuce and homegrown tomatoes. Plant a Family Vegetable Garden
Go online together and research how to create a raised bed garden, or use pots on your porch to plant in. You also can join a community garden and rent a space of land for planting vegetables. However or wherever you grow your vegetables, enjoy nurturing and caring for the seeds as they blossom and yield wonderful delights.
Start small by planting tomatoes, lettuce, basil, onions, squash and green peppers. When your harvest is ready, enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! Bring the salt shaker to the garden and eat a sun-warmed tomato right off of the vine. Have a party and make tomato and mozzarella salad with fresh basil, or roast your summer squash with onions for a savory treat. Slice your peppers and eat them with a yogurt veggie dip to enjoy the crisp, delightful taste.
If you live or visiting in South Florida here is tip for you:
COFFO’S HARVEST FARMERS MARKET
Join them on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at their Harvest Farmers Market on 450 West 336 Street in Florida City, FL as they launch their newest Harvest Farmers’ Market Project.
COFFO in coordination with DOOR, volunteers from the United Methodist of Coral Gables, the Dade County Cooperative Extension and Mr. Sam Accurcio will break ground on COFFO’s Community Educational Vegetable Garden. Volunteers will come from COFFO, DOORS and the United Methodist of Coral Gables. The tools will be provided by COFFO, the materials by the United Methodist of Coral Gables and the soil by Mr. Sam Accurcio and the planting instruction and health benefits from the Dade County Cooperative Extension.
Once the beds are planted, we will be partnering with the schools and Children’s Trust program to teach students on how to grow their own produce and the importance of sustainable agriculture, and farming preservation. When the crops are ready the students can opt to take the vegetables home or sell them at the Farmers’ Market.
Great Idea for parents, Grandparents and new to the kids. Ok maybe to some adults as well.

April Tip Main Ideas
April is here as they say “April Showers May Flowers”. In todays economy we see amazing storms hitting our way. At the beggining of this year we stared a series of Tips on how to deal with life and people and many other subjects.
Went it comes to finances my brother suggested Suze Orman: We did by adding a tip from her once a month. Other tips by Suze are easy to find just find her picture and if you want more info on the subject follow her link she got much more than we can post. Back to April and her Tip with this goal in mind was to get us in good shape for the next yer. According to Suze Orman and I quote
Thoughtful financial planning can easily take a backseat to daily life. (Do your taxes two months early? You’re just trying to stay on top of today.) But I promise that if you set aside time each month to give your money some attention, when 2012 rolls around you’ll be in fabulous financial shape. Here’s my plan of attack for the year to come:
April: Take Stock As we head into the sign of Taurus, take a moment to think about bull markets. For long-term savings goals, stocks have the potential to generate inflation-beating gains. But we’re all a bit queasy about stocks these days. Focus your stock investments on those that pay dividends—payments a company makes to its shareholders. Sticking with a low-cost exchange traded fund (ETF) with a diversified portfolio of dividend payers is a smart strategy. Try the Vanguard Dividend Appreciation (VIG) or the SPDR S&P Dividend ETF (SDY).
Timely Tip: If you do file your taxes in April, let your return guide your next move. If you’re owed a refund, change your W-4 withholding to get that money back in your paychecks where it belongs. If you owe a penalty, make sure you’re not having too little money withheld.
It’s That Time Of The Year
No, is not Christmas! Does April 15 rings a bell to anybody out there. How ever, This year we get a Holiday
Latest News From the IRS
Taxpayers have an extra weekend to file this year because of a District of Columbia holiday. The deadline for 2011 is Monday April 18, instead of April 15.
Federal Income Tax Deadline Extended To April 18, 2011
BY Mike Wright
April 15 is the traditional due date for federal income taxes. It’s a deadline so ingrained in the American psyche that the April 15 calendar date is often called, simply, “Tax Day”.
In 2011, however, federal taxes aren’t due April 15. They’re due April 18. It’s because of a combination of holiday, calendars, and tax law.
The change centers on Emancipation Day.
Emancipation Day is a public celebration in the District of Columbia. Named a holiday in 2005, Emancipation Day honors President Abraham Lincoln’s April 16, 1862 signing of the Compensation Emancipation Act.
Emancipation Day is a non-working day in the nation’s capitol but, this year, Emancipation Day falls on a Saturday. The municipality will observe the holiday Friday instead. This means that all of Washington, D.C. will be “closed” Friday, April 15 — the usual tax filing deadline date.
This includes the IRS.
Therefore, to accommodate Emancipation Day, the government is extending this year’s federal tax filing deadline to April 18, 2011. This year marks the second time Emancipation Day has forced the change of federal tax filing deadlines.
Also, as a non-related coincidence, tax filers taking extensions to October 15 will also get a few extra days. October 15 is a Saturday so the extended tax deadline rolls over to the following Monday — October 17, 2011.
It’s Our First
This past March, here at HomesteadTV Magazine we celebrated our first year as an ECO Magazine on the Internet. No Tree has fallen for the sake of the message as you can see. With the help of many and the loyalty of does who share us with their family and friend in every way they knew how, we say.

Thanks to our guess, for great interviews and invitacions to their special projects. Thank s for all you do as you reach to help the community close or abroad. What an honor to have had you in our pages.
For the coming year our goal is to find more stories and tips that create awareness as how we can help first our families and each other. In the process our hope and prayers are we leave this world a better place.
Take Advantage of March
March: Do Some Spring Cleaning
Make time to toss any outdated paperwork. You should keep a copy of your tax return indefinitely, but you need to save supporting documents for only three years. Anything from before 2007 should get shredded. If you’re self-employed or have income from multiple sources, hold on to your documents for six years. That’s how long the IRS has to challenge your reported income. Next, roll over 401(k)s from old jobs and IRAs at different firms into one account at a low-cost brokerage or mutual fund company—it’s easier to keep track of this way, and you’ll save on maintenance fees.
How to Manage a Financially Controlling Spouse
Q: I’m a stay-at-home mom who’s been married for 22 years; my husband is the sole provider in our household. Our bank accounts are in his name only, and I have no idea how much we have in checking, savings, or our IRAs. He gives me an allowance for gas and groceries, but when something else comes up (oil changes, birthday gifts, prescriptions, clothing, haircuts, doctor visits), I’m expected to cover that, too. Then I don’t have enough to buy gas and groceries…so he accuses me of overspending and lowers my allowance. I feel defeated. How can we manage our finances together in a mutually respectful way?
A: Your husband has some strange ideas about equality in a marriage. But he isn’t entirely to blame here. Why have you allowed him to impose this dynamic on your relationship? A child gets an allowance—you are his wife. He may be the one who earns money, but being a stay-at-home mom is a job, too. Whether it generates a paycheck is irrelevant; it delivers tremendous value to your family. The real problem is that your husband doesn’t appreciate what you do, and you can’t expect him to value your hard work if you’re not valuing yourself. You don’t have a money problem. You have a self-esteem problem.
You must demand that your name be put on every account as co-owner, and then learn exactly where you and your husband stand financially. Next, bring your husband in as an equal partner in managing the monthly spending. Sit down at the end of this month and review every bill. If he has a problem with the amount that’s being spent, then it’s up to him to offer plausible solutions for cutting down on expenses. This is not your problem to fix alone. It’s a challenge for you both to solve—together.
Romantic Pillow Talk
Pillow Talk Tips from Suze Orman Hashing out monetary matters may not make for romantic pillow talk, but a little financial planning can do a lot for your love life down the line. Here are a few pointers to help you stay smart when following your heart:
Get Acquainted
You must talk money before your relationship becomes serious—a person’s financial habits are an incredible insight into his values and ethics. That doesn’t mean a lousy credit score is a reason to break up, but if you find that your new love interest doesn’t handle money responsibly, you have to question what else he isn’t going to be upright about. If you’re the one with the issues, be honest about your shortcomings. A good relationship is one in which each party helps the other make better choices—and you and your beau might be able to help each other become smarter about money.
Meet in the Middle
Whether you are newly engaged or suddenly find a long-term relationship challenged by a financial setback, support each other. Retreating to your corners does not help. Nor does finger-pointing; blame doesn’t help your balance sheet. To address any money problem, you need to work together to come up with a game plan.
Consider Yourselves Equals
Who makes what is irrelevant. Do you hear me, stay-at-home moms? The size of your paycheck does not determine your role in the family finances. Respect each other as equal partners, with an equal say in money management.
Put It in Writing
I know there’s nothing sexy about legal forms. But ensuring that you have the correct documents in place to safeguard you and your assets is a must. A prenuptial agreement will clearly delineate what is solely yours before marriage, meaning you will be protected if you divorce. For those contemplating a second marriage, the only way to protect the assets you bring to the table—especially if you want them to go to children from a prior marriage—is to create a legal trust. That document will spell out what portion of your personal assets will pass to your children, rather than to your new spouse.
Fools Rush In
Debts you had prior to marriage are yours alone—unless you actively merge them. When you wed, don’t automatically rush to combine everything. You can help each other out by chipping away at your loans without becoming officially responsible for each other’s.
Divide and Conquer
Here’s how I suggest every cohabiting couple organize their cash flow: Create three accounts—one for you, one for your partner, and one joint fund. Once you’ve determined the total cost of your shared living expenses, both of you should contribute your portion of these costs to the joint account each month, based on your share of household income. (For example, if you make $60,000 and your partner makes $40,000, you’re responsible for 60 percent of household expenses.) Whatever money doesn’t go toward these costs stays in the individual accounts, to be used at each person’s discretion.
Extra Credit
Every woman also needs one credit card in her name only. If you become divorced or widowed, an individual credit history will enable you to get a loan and open utility accounts without leaving a deposit, and may even help you land a job (some employers check applicants’ credit during the hiring process).
Ties That Bind
After you marry, every asset either of you acquires is jointly held. That’s why you both need to be in sync on your long-term financial goals, from paying off the mortgage to putting away for retirement. Ideally, you should talk about all this before you wed. If you don’t, you can end up deeply frustrated and financially spent. Discussing money with the man you hope to spend the rest of your life with doesn’t mean you don’t love him. It means you love him and yourself.
Don’t Hide Your Head in the Sand
A lot of women fall into the habit of letting their partner handle the money. If you are one of those women, that’s not your spouse’s fault; it’s yours. Your husband may be doing a fabulous job with your money—that’s not the point. You need to understand the family finances and weigh in on all decisions. The fact that women tend to live longer than men means they may need to rely on the money longer and will also find themselves managing it at some point. The longer you wait to engage, the bigger the surprises you may find down the line.
Lend a Helping Hand
There are infinite ways for your family to help in this world. I truly believe it is one of the greatest gifts we teach our children to show them through actions that they can make a positive difference in the lives of others. Here is a Tip Food Bank they are all over our communities.
A basic, wonderful truth about all people is that through our choices and actions, we can make the world a better place. We don’t have to do huge things to make a big difference. Even the smallest act of kindness has the power to resonate through this sometimes difficult and troubled world.
Individual acts of kindness and generosity of spirit change the world. Kindness is magical and contagious. A single smile brings on another smile; a “good morning” invites another greeting. Thoughtfulness, consideration and care enhance our well-being and others’ too.
In this picture a student run into one of her teacher at the local food bank were her parents help.

MC HAMMER AND Social Media
In the early ’90s, you couldn’t go anywhere without hearing MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This” or seeing someone wearing his signature parachute pants. Fashion may have moved on, but his album Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt ‘Emis still one of the best-selling hip-hop albums of all time.
Forbes Magazine estimated Hammer’s net worth at more than $33 million in 1991. But, just five years later, Hammer—born Stanley Burrell—was reportedly in debt to the tune of $13 million.
Hammer filed for bankruptcy in 1996, but today, he says his debt wasn’t a matter of losing his head. “No, I lost my heart,” he says. “I didn’t just take the money and say, ‘I want to be a blessing to myself.’ I took my money and employed 200 people in my community. I had a payroll of a million dollars a month at times.”
Hammer says he’s in a good place now. “Some people ask me sometimes, would I go back and change things?” he says. “They are flabbergasted by my answer. My real, true answer is I wouldn’t change one thing. I really believe in the butterfly effect. Meaning that if I change one thing, everything else changes. I lose the kids I have now. I lose the relationships I have now. I lose the peace I have now. So I’m very happy with my decision.”

SOUTH FLORIDA FARMERS’ MARKET WITH A TWIST
Buy your corn from the farmer who sells only corn, and your greens from the farmer who grows only leafy veggies. Farmers who specialize in one type of crop often have the best prices. Since they don’t have to rotate multiple crops, which requires more acreage and extra labor.
South Florida know that very well. In the deep South in an agricultural area call Florida City, FL. Something new is brewing and is not coffee. Annie Gorayeb shares,” Our plan is to launch the farmers market on Saturday February 5th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and every Saturday thereafter until the end of the year, December 17, 2011. The site of the Market will be at 445 West Davis Parkway (336 Street) in Florida City. The first 200 families to enter the market will received a Free $10 certificate to purchase Produce.
We sit in the middle of one of the best growing areas in the country and we need to support our local growers and, raise awareness about buying local fresh fruits and vegetables as a way to become more environmentally conscious. The market will also give opportunities for local vendors who will be selling food, beverages and crafts.
We are confident that the Coffo’s Harvest Farmers Market will continue to attract, tourist, business and, families throughout the year. Our volunteers will be keeping the kids busy with free activities such as Pony Rides, Jump House, and Face Painting so the parents can have time to look through the market and get to know the local farmers and their produce.
We are also looking forward in the near future to start a project which will give student in several schools in the area the opportunity to start a “Vegetable and Fruit Garden” for them to harvest their crop. Once their crop is ready to harvest we will partner with Chefs that will teach them how to prepare what they have grown in a healthier manner.
And finally, we will be partnering with an art teacher that will give students in several schools an opportunity to work on a “Mural Wall” at Coffo’s Harvest Farmers Market that will represent this great “Farming Community“
